Tanzania contains many large and ecologically significant wildlife parks, including the famous Ngorongoro Crater, Serengeti National Park in the north, and Selous Game Reserve and Mikumi National Park in the south. Tanzania has considerable wildlife habitat, including much of the Serengeti Plain, where the white-bearded wildebeest and other herbivores participate in a large-scale annual migration to the south crossing to Masai Mara in Kenya.
DAY 1:ARUSHA
Arrive Kilimanjaro Airport and transfer to Dik Dik Hotel for overnight.
DAY 2: ARUSHA - LAKE MANYARA
After breakfast transfer to Arusha Airport for schedule flight to Lake Manyara. Transfer to Lake Manyara Serena Lodge for lunch followed by afternoon game drive in Manyara National Park looking for the tree climbing lions for which the park is renowned among other species of the animal kingdom. Dinner and overnight stay at a Lodge/Camp.
DAY 3: LAKE MANYARA - GRUMETI(SERENGETI)
Morning transfer to Lake Manyara Airstrip for scheduled flight to Grumeti. On arrival proceed Game Package.
DAY 4: GRUMETI(SERENGETI)
Full board accommodation and Game Package at Grumeti River Camp.
GRUMETI RIVER CAMP****
In the untouched seclusion of a remote valley in western corridor of the Serengeti, this splendid tented camp overlooks a bywater of the Grumeti River where wildebeest plunge through the waters, running the gauntlet of gigantic crocodiles, on their annual migration. At Grumeti, hippos greet you through the watery carpet of lilies and the spectacular pied coats of Colobus monkeys flash through the bird-filled riverine trees. Even at night, the wild pulse of Africa is mesmerising, when the nocturnal orchestra of owls, bats and galagos is punctuated by the primeval sounds of lion and hyena.
The whimsical sweep of flamboyant tents under thatch and the vibrancy of kente cloth and local sculptured furnishings bring alive the excitement and romance of Africa. Each of the 10 spacious twin -bedded tents, complete with en-suite bathrooms, lies along the banks of the river and hippo pools. Interpretive game drives explore the Serengeti Savannahs and woodlands, which boast the largest mass of free-ranging animals on earth, including wildebeest, zebra, gazelle, eland and giraffe as well as some of the highest densities of cheetah in Africa, huge prides of lion and solitary leopards. And at night, around a starlit banquet, stories are shared of the day's game sighting and guests' wide-eyed experience of the majesty and exhilaration of wild Africa.
DAY 5: GRUMETI(SERENGETI) - NGORONGORO CRATER
Transfer to Grumeti Airstrip with camp vehicle for morning scheduled flight to Manyara and proceed by road to Ngorongoro Crater Lodge. The day is spent viewing game in this exclusive wildlife sanctuary that is home to elephants, rhinos, antelopes, zebras, giraffes, hippos, lions, leopards etc. Dinner and overnight at the Lodge.
DAY 6: NGORONGORO CRATER - ARUSHA
Transfer to Manyara Airstrip for morning flight to Arusha and transfer to Impala Hotel for lunch. Late evening transfer to Kilimanjaro for departure flight. |
