Zanzibar Island is some 40 kms from Tanzania mainland lays the mystical island of Zanzibar which boasts of vast kilometers of golden beaches and Turquoise waters spread with clarity of a diamond to the horizon. If ever there was a suitable setting for Arabian nights Zazibar would be it.

Day 1 Zanzibar Island

On arrival at the airport or harbour, you will be met and transferred to your hotel in Stone Town. Overnight at the hotel on Bed & Breakfast basis

Zanzibar, which is also the name of the capital of this tropical paradise, is located on the western shores of the island; it was the ancient port of the Sultans of Oman in the 19th century. The city is a medina: the only of its kind south of the Equator. Carved doors and balconies decorate the houses, which are made of coral stone. Inland, the island is a Garden of Eden offering the most exquisite tropical species.

Day 2 Stone Town

After breakfast depart for a guided tour of Stone Town covering the Kelele square, Tip Tip House, Former slave Market site, Livingstone House, the old dhow harbor and the Old Arab Fort. Lunch at one of the local restaurants. 1500hrs, boat trip to Prison Island, the former prison for slaves and quarantine station for Zanzibar, is an absolute worthwhile experience. Here you will also experience giant tortoises in the wild. Return to the hotel for overnight.

Day 3 Mangapwani Village via Maruhubi Palace ruins

After breakfast transfer to Mangapwani village via Maruhubi Palace ruins and visit of the slave caves and chambers. Lunch at Mangapwani Serena Restaurant located on the outskirts of Zanzibar Stone Town. The Serena Mangapwani Restaurant and Watersports Centre is a great destination for those looking for somewhere special. Visitors to Mangapwani are offered a fresh seafood barbeque cooked to perfection by Serena’s expert team of chefs. The atmosphere is informal and friendly and the restaurant comprises a series of traditional makuti bandas, all set into a lush hillside overlooking an idyllic beach. Guests can also enjoy fishing, snorkeling, kayaking, catamaran rides and other pleasant distractions at the well-equipped watersports centre. Late in the afternoon, you drive back to stone town for overnight at the hotel.

Day 4 Outbound Flight

After breakfast transfer to the airport for your flight back home.
