Amboseli National Park lies northwest of Mt. Kilimanjaro on the Kenya border with Tanzania and is amazingly very rich in both flora and fauna.

The park is popular mainly due to the magnificent backdrop of Africa's highest snow-capped Mt. Kilimanjaro that dominates the sweeping game dotted plains and certainly one of the finest locations for mountain spotting with the glittering Mount Kilimanjaro.

Mount Meru in Tanzania is also seen in the horizon. Amboseli which means "Salty Dust" in the Maa language is an important range land to the Maasai pastoralists' culture. Waters from melting snow of the snow-capped peaks of Mt. Kilimanjaro feed the marshland and swamps below.

Amboseli a nature photographer's dream, where the spectacular wildlife are captured silhouetted against the Magnificent Mount Kilimanjaro.
