The Serengeti National Park in Tanzania is certainly the best-known wildlife sanctuary that is made up of unique combination of diverse habitats.

The Park is one of the major wildlife areas featuring African animals in this Savannah and it is a very complex and least disturbed ecosystem.

Serengeti is Tanzanian's oldest, second largest covering an area of 14,763 Sq. Km. The park stretches between the shores of Lake Victoria in the west, Lake Eyasi to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area (NCA) in the south and to the Great Rift Valley on the eastern side.

 The parks landscape was originally formed by volcanic activities but has been sculptured by   wind, rain, and sun geographically known as weathering to form kopjes. The park is a world heritage site.

Serengeti National Park: What Game

  • With more than two million wildebeest half a million Thomson's gazelle, and a quarter of a million zebra, it has the greatest concentration of plains game in the world.

  • Wildebeest Migration occurs each year and it is the most breathtaking event in the animal kingdom. During the dry season, the herds of ungulates  moves  to the west, one group to the north to the Lake Victoria while the other moves to the northeast  to Mara Rivers and tributaries. The animals trot in search of green pastures and   waters.

    • Serengeti Safari Camp

      Serengeti Safari Camp, a mobile camp moves throughout the Serengeti National Park changing location to follow the movements of the migration (it will not move during your stay). Camp movements are pre-planned in an effort to be within reach of the herds. The migration gathers momentum, as the herds enter the Serengeti Western Corridor. The wildebeest and their newborn calves meet their first serious barrier as come across the Grumeti River and its vast crocodiles  between June and July.
