The is organization make inter country comparisons on classes of hotels share tourist knowledge experience try to learn from each another on best practice on how to learn institutions. The corroboration can take place through transfer of technology, whereby the north which is more technologically advanced assist the South with technological expertise. The sharing can be mutual with the south contributing indigenous knowledge. People in the south should also share technical methods e.g. if South Africa has a better way of running their park. The Organization encourages the implementation of the Global Code of Ethics for Tourism, with a view to ensuring that member countries, tourist destinations and businesses maximize the positive economic, social and cultural effects of tourism and fully reap its benefits, while minimizing its negative social and environmental impacts. UNWTO is committed to the United Nations Millennium Development Goals, geared toward reducing poverty and fostering sustainable development.
